[Writing] New attitude to learn English

New attitude to learn English

[2008/12/20] Today,
I went to the Trinity in Taipei. I attanded the I2-reading class. The
teacher of this class was Stewart. First, I entered to the classroom,
and he asked me that why I went here to learn English? I responded that
because I wanted to learn the more in English. Then, He asked me that
why you wanted to learn more? Anyway, he used this way to check my
purpose. At the end of the day, my purpose is to earn the more money.

Then, he shared what attitude is a
good attitude to learn English. He said that we should put English in
our daily life. We should think in English, we should talk with
English, we should do anything with English. I know, this thought
sounds crazy, but I would try it. Next, I could write the diary to note
some special thing here.

Hi!  I didn't know that you responded my message in YOUR blog until I checked the message system today in MY blog.  Yes, you are partly right except for missing one error as well -- check the word "enter".  How to use the verb "enter"?

Have a good day!

Indeed, there are some obvious errors in your article, though, I am very impressed with the effort you've been making in improving your English.  I suggest that you spend some time studying the word "the" in your grammar book.  Keep going!  Practice makes perfect.  There's no shortcut in learning English but only efforts.  God bless you.

Thanks for your comment. After I check this article, I find some mistakes.

1. attanded  -> attended

2. learn the more  -> learn more

3. earn the more money -> earn more money

am I right?

[Writing] No Try No Success

No Try No Success

Tonight
I want to share one of my favorite sentences. This is that “No try no
success”. It is very simple, but it is also very hard. What am I
talking about? I mean that the meaning of this sentence is very simple,
but in fact, how many people can do it easily. I guess that maybe just
few people who are really successful can do it. For example, if you
have one grand goal which is very hard to achieve, but it is too
difficult, so maybe you feel frustrated, maybe you want to give up this
goal. Remember, once you give up it, you will never achieve it. Maybe
you can do it, but if you do not try it, you never know whether you can
do it or not. Sometimes your limit is not your real limit. It is all
about your mind, it is up to you. Do you know the slogan of Adidas
advertisement? “Impossible is nothing.” It is up to you.

Next, I want to introduce another sentence which Kevin Lin said. Do you
know Kevin Lin? He is the most famous marathon runner in Taiwan. Last
year, he ran cross the Desert Sahara. This year, he led his team to
attend the “Polar-Challenge Game.” It’s also a hard work right? But he
said “Sometimes you feel afraid, it is ok, you just make your body do
it first, and then your mental courage will be coming soon.” I totally
agree his thoughts. You could feel afraid, but you have to force
yourself to overcome it. I am very impressed by these sentences, so I
share them to you. Remember “No try no success “.

[Writing] One of my embarrassed experience

One of my embarrassed experience

You see that I
stand here, and share my story. You must think that I like English in
my whole life or I am good for studying English, but in fact, I hate
studying English before, and my English grades are also poor before.
You must be so curious why I am here, why I am here to tell you of my
story. It’s all about one of my embarrassing experiences. Let me tell
you what’s happened in this embarrassing experience.

On July 14th, 2005. I attended at the international conference about AI in Hong Kong.
Before that date, my professor had asked me to present our research on
this conference unfortunately by using English. My English level had
been poor in that time, but I still had wanted to try it. On that day,
when I reached the conference place, I felt shocked. It was in the
5-star hotel near the harbor. The view was very beautiful, but I was
not in the mood to watch this beautiful scenery, because I was a little
nervous. I worried about I didn’t memorize my script, and I worried
about if somebody asked questions to me, but I couldn’t answer them.
Then, I entered to the session room where I will present in. I felt
shocked again. It was so big. I guessed maybe there were 80 to 100
seats in this room. At that time, I felt the more nervous because I was
afraid that I will do something wrong later. Eventually, my time was
coming. I presented my research well. After presenting, I was a little
happy that I didn’t do something wrong, but the happy time was not too
long. After presenting, it was the Q&A time. It was just a hard
time. I remembered that a Taiwanese professor asked me the first
question, but in fact, I just understood half about his question. I
tried to explain my conclusion, but I knew I couldn’t solve his
question. Next, an Indian asked me the second question, and this time
was awful. I totally couldn’t understand what he was talking about. At
that time, I started to felt embarrassed because it was like a
stalemate. We couldn’t communicate with each other. Next, a Japanese
tried to ask me slowly, but I still couldn’t understand his question.
At that time, I felt other audiences must believe I was a fool, and why
my English was so bad. I thought this, and felt embarrassed a lot. This
was my first time I thought my English was really poor.

        Retuning
to Taiwan, I started to accept learning English, because after this
experience, I knew having a good idea is not big deal, and the most
important thing is you know how to pass it to others. Therefore, this
embarrassing experience changed me, and this is why I am here.

[Writing] The Taiwanese are crazy for “The Cape No.7”

The Taiwanese are crazy for “The Cape No.7”

Have you ever
watched the hottest movie, The Cape No.7, which made the Taiwanese
crazy? Have you noticed almost all people around you are talking about
this film? Have you found almost news, TV programs, and radio programs
are discussing it? Indeed, recently, it is the hottest movie in Taiwan. The sales of box office in all Taiwan earn more than 4
hundred million NT dollars, and it is also the 2nd
in the box office chart since the beginning of record history.
Especially, this movie is a domestic one. It is very rare to see the
domestic movie become so popular, and make the Taiwanese crazy, but
this movie gets it. Why is this movie so successful? I think this
question is also a question for many readers.

        In my opinion,”The Cape No.7”
seizes 3 factors, funny, having feeling, and web marketing. First, it
is really funny. The director, Mr. Wei, designed many ideas to make
audiences laugh, and indeed, he got it. He made almost every audience
give a hearty laugh in the movie theater. In addition, recently, it was
the bad time for the Taiwanese because of the bad economy and the bad
stock market. They were not happy, so they wanted to do something to
relax. This movie just made them happy. Second, this movie is similar
to our usual life. For example, in south of Taiwan,
the police allow the residents riding their scooters without helmets.
Many situations are similar to the Taiwanese’s life, so they have the
feeling that it is a story close to them. Third, this movie is
advertised by using web marketing a lot. Now, it is a web 2.0 periods,
and online users have the ability to affect each other. Therefore, this
movie company focused on web marketing. They hired some people to
criticize this movie in good things on the Internet, and those articles
attracted some people to watch it and posted their opinions on the
internet. Then, the more people were attracted to watch it because of
those many opinions. This is the power of the web 2.0.

        I
have watched this movie. I think that this movie is a good one, but in
fact, it is not very excellent. I believe some domestic movies are
better than it in the context, but this movie indeed broke the record
in the Taiwanese movie history. It is not on the top, but it makes us
laugh a lot, and it touches our heard deeply. The most important thing
is that this movie represents the domestic movie market. We should
support them to make more Taiwanese directors create more excellent
domestic movies, and go out to the international movie markets. Have
you watched”The Cape No.7”? If your answer is no, just go ahead and watch it.

[Writing] The more exercise you do, the healthier you are

The
more exercise you do, the healthier you are

The
more exercise you do, the healthier you are. This is a common sense
everybody knows, but how many people do exercise? People in Taiwan
usually spend so much time for working that they can not do any
exercise. This article will tell you why you have to do exercise.

Why you need to do exercise? Firstly, according some research, doing
more exercise can improve your metabolism. If your metabolism is as
better as athletes are, you will not be as fat as the fat. We all know
the fat are much times as unhealthy as healthy people, so the better
metabolism you have, the healthier you are. Secondly, you have to
release your pressure after a full day of working, so what you do best
is doing exercise. People said doing exercise can help you feel
refreshed and come up with more solutions. If you always work hard all
day, you will lose your health, so you have to relax by doing exercise.
As you can see, if you hope you are getting healthier and healthier,
you need do exercise as a healthy life.

[Reading] Long hours link to dementia risk

Long hours link to dementia risk

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7909464.stm

From BBC

In Asia, I think we are hard to avoid the long hours working, but in my opinion, we have to find somrthing balance to coordinate our tired body and exhausted mind. For example, even though in the busy life, you can still do some exercise, contact with friends, join in some activities. I mean it is up to your attitude, and you must find some interesting thing to relax.

[Reading] North Korea refuses US food aid

From : BBC

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7949785.stm

I really have no idea about the history between North Korea and South Korea, but from the news, they seemly prefer South Koera. The news said the North Korea government cheat their citizen with what their country is not bad. I think it totally become their royal belief, and they really don't know the truth.

Kristen asked us if we are the South Koera government or the US, how could we do? I responed that we can use 3 ways. First, negotiate with them as friendly as possible. Second, try to push China to help us because China was usually their partner, once they lost the partner of Chins, they will fell fear. Finally, you have to train some special teams under the table.

 2. sales

"I am glad you guys are interesting in this role play, and for me, I totally can not just memorize the vocabularies by vocabulary books, so I usually just touch more. I hope this natural way can support you to learn English."

[Reading] Foreign brides challenge South Korean prejudices

http://www.iht.com/articles/2005/06/23/news/brides.php?page=2

Today, we talked about foreign brides. I thought that this is also common in Taiwan, and it is "win-win" deal. Men want wemen, and wemen want to earn more money to change their life. In fact, there are still many problems including prejudices, abuse, cheat, etc.
